  •  As you note, Obama fanning flames was stupid. (0+ / 0-)

"Why fan the flames of this non-issue."

That was Cheerio2's point exactly. It was stupid of Obama to get involved as it only elevated the phone "controversy", gave it more air time.

    First do no harm.

And since Obama decided to elevate the GOP media's phony issue he could have gone to the heart of it and told why it was a fake issue and why millionaire's who have never held a job, never lived paycheck to paycheck in a world with no health care, no jobs, low pay for women has no clue about issues facing working mothers.

Instead Obama bought into the lie and inflated it.  Like you say, he behaved stupidly.

    •  No, he behaved intelligently (0+ / 0-)

If he had to say something he could have said:

"I think Ann Romney, the wife a millionaire son of a millionaire, living in multiple homes with fancy cars and elevators in the garage has no idea of the struggles of working mothers who must work to support their families on Walmart wages and Walmart health care."

would have fanned the flames.   Obama diffused the bomb with his comments and showed that he stands with woman who choose to remain at home and raise a family.
      •  That explains it being on the FRONT PAGE (0+ / 0-)

Obama behaved stupidly in elevating the attention given to the phony controversy and he compounded the problem by apologizing for Rosen's very correct comments and by not clarifying Rosen's correct comments that Ann Romney is clueless about the the problems of working mothers.
