  •  Bullshit (0+ / 0-)

    No one is physically attackingGuillen.

For fucks sake, after all the work on Limbaugh I have to read so much bullshit here. It's so fucking annoying.

Can't you understand that it's not the same as Limbaugh? The Cubans in Miami are nothing if not whiny children who get butthurt at the slightest thing. Guillen didn't call some innocent person a whore, he made an offhand remark about Fidel Castro but those marvelous and First Amendment championing Cubans won't accept anything other than, "Fuck Fidel".

Guillen said nothing wrong but was forced to apologize because a bunch of kneejerk assholes continue to be upset that Batista is gone.

This head movie makes my eyes rain.

      •  That's a normative judgment (4+ / 0-)

I agree Guillen's statement was gibberish and not woirht paying attention to.

        But other people disagree,

The validity6 of a protest or boycott as a tactic CAN NOT be based on whether you agree with the merits.

Everyone has a right to protest or boycott.

It's not ok as a principle if you agree with it and not ok as a principle if you disagree with it.

I don't understand how this simple concept cannot be understood at a progressive web site.

        Think Voltaire.

P.S. The dififculty with some of the statements I personally have in this thread is the likes "a bunch of kneejerk assholes continue to be upset that Batista is gone."

Some assholes apparently cannot believe that folks might oject to Castro on his own merits.

There is something demented about that imo.

      •  Let's replace "Cuban" with "Black" (4+ / 0-)

        and "Miami" with "Florida."

The Blacks in Florida are nothing if not whiny children who get butthurt at the slightest thing.
That would be HR'able.  Care to tell me why your comment isn't?  Is racism OK here when it's levied against a non-Democratic minority?

By the way, because the government didn't get involved in this shitshow, the first amendment doesn't apply, and please don't cite it.

    •  some people probably enjoyed the years when you (0+ / 0-)

were missing from these pages, so if you can't take being "annoyed", another hiatus may be just the ticket

      •  Tough on those people (0+ / 0-)

Maybe you can take a hiatus for a while if I bother you so much.

The irony of people asking me to leave for my speech in this diary is no doubt lost on you.

Me, I will fight to the death for your right to ask me to leave.

        •  whinging is one thing (0+ / 0-)

but whinging while being an aggressive j*rk is - well, your trademark, isn't it?

and i didn't ask you to leave...i suggested that the last time you left was like getting an abcessed tooth removed for many folks, so you might want to consider it again since you have such a low opinion of "people on this site"...try it you'll like it!

          •  Oh the passive aggressive (0+ / 0-)

            whining is ok then.

            Ha! What a funny comment.

"I didn't ask you to leave. I just suggested people might like it if you left."

Yet again, the irony is rich in this one.

I may make a project of you.

So, do you want me to leave? Yes or No.
