dislike pit vipers. Well, most of 'em, anyway. Only have two varieties where I live - timber rattlers (biggest rattlesnakes anywhere) and copperheads. The rattlers are sort of peaceful and we have a mutual agreement that they don't come into our living area, and we don't go out hunting them in the forest. They're quite smart that way.

The copperheads, on the other hand, are nasty aggressive critters who believe our yard and gardens are their personal property, will hide right next to the house or under the porch to bite you as you innocently walk by, even come right on into the house if the door gets left open. For them we have amassed an impressive array of effective long and short handled beheading devices, and slay at least a couple every spring/summer. Hang the heads on the fence so it'll rain...

ALEC is a nest of copperheads. We need some good beheading devices. Or maybe just a hungry black snake of our own.

roiling too much with all the snake talk.  My biggest irrational phobia.  I can talk myself through my other one - heights - but snakes - I've given up even trying.
