I liked rock climbing, tree climbing, hiking (or rather, running wild through the woods), and generally exploring.  Competition, though, just made me thoroughly unhappy.  My parents tried me on every sport they could think of, from T-ball to gymnastics to soccer to several martial arts.  Every time, I'd hit the first major competition, and wind up a crying, angry mess.  That hasn't really changed.  Today, I'm an inveterate video gamer, but I play almost exclusively single player or co-op.  Playing against other people is a type of tension and stress that I find extremely uncomfortable.

In a way, I never really had confidence problems, though (even with the bullying) - I built confidence by knowing things, and I took a great deal of pride in that.  (although when they tried to push me to compete in math games and the like, it was the same misery)

To each their own, I think.
