I was at CPAC (oh man, nasty weekend) for a drug policy reform function. Anyway, Cheney was the surprise guest to present Rumsfeld with the "Defender of the Constitution" Award. lol.

I've never been that angry in my life, I flipped him off and was forced to leave the hall. It just overpowered me.

    Fuck Dick Cheney.

Time to choose education over incarceration and schools over prisons. Support the only student-run nationwide drug policy organization, Students for Sensible Drug Policy.

That's the award Cheney gives Rumsfeld?  That's more than ironic, it's nauseating.

I can't bear the thought that both of these monsters will live our their lives in comfort and not in prison.  I'm a fan of the Obama Administration, but I can't forgive or forget the fact that they never prosecuted these war criminals or even had a truth and reconciliation process to expose their crimes.  The lack of any response at all only emboldens them, and legitimizes their crimes.

The judicial system depends upon legitimacy, and in the face of complete impunity for the worst of crimes, it's hard to take the system seriously.  Since Cheney will never be investigated or go to trial, I feel OK with forgetting about that "guilty until proven innocent" rhetoric.  In the absence of a trial or even the possibility of a reasonable investigation, we are free to make our own determination of his guilt or innocence.  He's guilty.  I wish him no violence, but hope that a better nation than ours indicts him.
