the reason i wrote the headline was that was the first thought that came to my mind when i read the original article ...

what would happen if Obama pulled down Dick Cheney ... that would look so unPresidential ... !!!

Look at Dick Cheney and after effectively delivering the worst presidency in modern history, having the gall to criticize Pres. Obama. Not only did Bush/Cheney deliver the worst government, anyone involved in Bush/Cheney adminstration would never be elected on a presidential ticket. Otherwise why would an ex-Governor (who didn't run the second time because he knew he would lose!), an ex-Senator (who lost by 18% - one of the worst in modern history) and an ex-speaker (who was thrown out by his own peers) be the main candidates for Repub ticket.

Imagine how the Bush/Dick made Condi Rice nomination nuclear? Or that of many other republicans. Say what you might about republicans - the health of the republic depends on both parties engaged in ideas to sustain the global leadership. With one party out of ideas and having only 1 line zingers, there is an effect on the republic as well. That's one of the reasons why Bush/Cheney will be remembered as one of the worst - they were bad for the country and they will be bad for their own party through the medium term.

but to understand that, it's necessary to read into the story. Headlines are supposed to grab attention, get the reader reading. This one was pretty much a put-off.

      Just MHO.

        And there's misleading.

I thought in our reality-based community, we never put quotation marks around words that didn't come from THAT person's mouth. Even paraphrasing is off-limits.

I don't like anything in a diary that can be lifted verbatum and used against the president (or other Dems) unless its 1. True. Or  2. specifically labeled or obviously snark.

A title sits by itself, all alone, on the front page.

        I dunno.

        I'm with you, Mnen.
