    Don't be daft. The fact that a majority of teachers are women is incidental.

    Republicans see three dangers in public education.

    1) It teaches citizens to think for themselves (badly, but better than the alternatives)

    2) Teachers skew liberal, or moderate, as do most college educated people because they tend to live in the fact-based universe.

    3) They can't make money off taxpayers in a publicly run school system.

    So, keep your eyes on the prize and don't get distracted. The insults to women's health care and autonomy are real enough, but they are the symptom not the disease. The disease is an all out war on what it means to be a citizen and how democracy is defined in this country.
