A Federal law mandating that any landline shut down by any landline service provider escheats to the Federal government, with an easement onto any service provider's telecommunications systems enabling maintenance of service through that landline.

They want to deop those lines?  Fine, the FedGovt should say; now we own them.  Oh, and since the providers are dropping these lines voluntarily, as unprofitable, it's not a taking.

The road to Hell is paved with pragmatism.
