    ...and an external charging cradle for them, for my little old Nokia dumbphone. I have to wonder if you can actually change the battery on the newer smartphones without tools.

      a battery, sim, or SD card...a lot easier than my old phone.

    •  You can charge off your laptop (0+ / 0-)

      My android can charge via USB off any computer.  Even if power were out, as long as I was smart enough to not use the laptop, except for charging the cell, I bet I could keep the cell phone running (in standby) for a month.

        ...is a solar panel that will plug into the charging cradle. I do have an auto charging adapter tha will plug into the phone.
