    Was visiting the National Portrait Gallery in London with a couple of friends. A rather eccentric but well-dressed man saw our interest in a series of prints from the 1800's, and proceeded to guide us through the art and its context in fascinating and illuminating detail.

    When we were done we thanked him and moved on. A museum guard approached us. "He didn't bother you, did he?"

    "No. Isn't he a guide here?"

    "Absolutely not! He just likes to come in here and pretend he is."
