    I mean, surely there's somebody out there that would mistake Mr. Romney for a human.

    •  Plus, the Turing test is not done face-to-face (2+ / 0-)

      The basic idea is to have a computer terminal for both parties, and to have the known human engage in conversation with the entity on the other end, deciding at some point if it's intelligent life or a computer.

      So, I'd be willing to believe that it would be hard to declare ANY politician a human based on such input, since they all seem to talk in sound-bites and regurgitated factoids.

      Fortunately, computers don't get to cast votes, although since they are increasingly in charge of counting them, perhaps failing the Turing test is a GOOD thing for a candidate.
