From a press release put out yesterday by the Reyes campaign:

El Paso, Texas – Following Beto O’Rourke’s smear of President Barack Obama’s endorsement and his attacks on Congressman Reyes, Chuy Reyes, campaign manager for the Reyes Works campaign, released the following statement:

“Congressman Reyes is a proud Vietnam veteran, the first Hispanic Sector Chief, and the first Hispanic to represent El Paso in the U.S. House of Representatives.  He has taken bullets for our country, stood up to the cartels, and is a nationally respected war hero and statesman *with one of the highest security clearances in the country.
"These attacks by Mr. O’Rourke highlight the desperation of a man, who has an incredibly troubled past that includes several arrests and run-ins with the law, multiple ethics complaints to his name, an embarrassing public record on City Council, and ultimately shows that he is misinformed, unprepared, and willing to say and do anything to get elected - a man whose campaign is bankrolled with money from billionaires, Republican Super PACs, relatives who have pled guilty to skirting IRS laws and radical drug-use legalization activists.  This man has no credibility.

Yikes. I've been wanting Reyes to win because of O'Rourke connections to developers, but I'm not too keen on the personal attacks.
