isn't enough for the Koch Brothers.  They want Power and control of this country.

to our Government. ALEC is a combined effort by about 300 corporations and about one third of the Nation's legislators...ONE THIRD! 85 members of the US Congress along with 14 sitting or former Governors.

I honestly wonder what our founders would think of corporations crafting legislation hand in hand with hard rightwing elected government officials who openly detest Our Government and work to dismantle it in the name of profits for the wealthy.
I also wonder about the Constitutionality of having industries drafting legislation. Particularly when the legislation directly affects their business.

keep appearing surprised as to what's exactly in the Bills they've been passing across the Nation. "Forced ultrasound? Why I had NO IDEA the law went that far." Anybody surprised to hear that Gov Bob McDonnell happens to be a former member of ALEC? Funny he won't admit to it and that ALEC omits him from their site but here's a link to an ALEC site screen grab:

McDonnell and his plans for the VP spot.

He owns the ultrasound mess and the connection to ALEC should keep him out of the running.

is their ability to muster blue-collar support. They convince people to basically castrate themselves socially and politically with their votes.

Ignorance may be bliss, but it also can be lethal. An uninformed or misinformed electorate is a threat to the continued existence of Democracy in this country.

I believe in democracy, civil liberties, and the rule of law. That makes me a liberal, and I’m proud of it. - Paul Krugman
