    assuming an Obama re-election, 2014 will probably be tougher than 2012, in my opinion.

    After that, I agree.  He'll be entrenched and the district will get bluer.

      especially in the central valley. once garamendi is an incumbent, becomes a known quantity up in the northern half as he currently is in the south, and has a chance to do some constituent services, he'll be set.

      i don't really think this race will be all that competitive, but once he's in the seat, he'll be unbeatable.
