    to reasonable doubt.

Except if Martin has only the gunshot wound then it seems pretty clear that Martin initiated the violence. Obviously the gunshot ended the fighting.

    •  I can't agree with that (4+ / 0-)

If you come up to me and shoot me, that doesn't necessarily mean I started something with you

(The above was probably snark, for the snark challenged) (The below was actually said by George W Bush in a press conference) I'm kind of stalling for time here...They told me what to say. George W Bush, 03-21-2006 10:00 EST Press Conference

Don't hide behind reasonable doubt. There's no doubt in your mind: the little punk had it coming.

because we don't what happened between the end of the phone call and the bullet being fired.

Without that data i have no choice but to remain openminded. I don't claim Zimmerman is innocent nor do i claim he was guilty.

I claim that no one here has the evidence required to make that judgement in a court of law, based on what we know now.

The point isn't whether or not the two scuffled or even who started it. The point is that George Zimmerman told police he was justified in shooting Trayvon Martin because Martin was supposedly beating him w/in an inch of his life.

Zimmerman, his father, his brother, and various attorneys who were representing him all told variations of that same story. Indeed, his brother said one more blow like that and George would have been wearing diapers for the rest of his life. Not only that, in each instance, the story mentioned something about his head being slammed into concrete, which is unlikely at best since the body of Martin was found on the grass and all witnesses quoted have said they were fighting on the grass and not on the concrete path. Additionally, ZImmerman claimed he was heading back to his car at the time which is also equally unlikely.

The entire line of questioning and arguing about who started the fight is irrelevant. It is meant to be a red herring, to distract the public and potential juries and creating a self defense. Not only that it sounds concocted. to

        is a VERY big point.

Zimmerman, his father, his brother, and various attorneys who were representing him all told variations of that same story.
        non-witnesses.

Non-likely things happen on a daily basis. How close was his body found to the concrete path? was it 2 feet or 20 feet?

Wouldn't it be nice to have that data prior to making a judgment? And since the police accepted Zimmermans story, what they saw at the scene must have matched what Zimmerman said.

So i find it implausible that the fighting took place far from a concrete surface. Otherwise Zimmerman is an idiot liar and the cops are fools.

SO everyone that is shot is the one that starts the fight. What a great simplified theory of justice
