dKos was successful in the limburger matter due to pressure on sponsors and I believe Color of Change uses the same tactics.

has done for sure. I think we were successful in getting an elderly activist fellow out of solitary where he was given no blanket or pillow. And we did chase a bunch of advertisers away from limbo.

dKos is also good at multitasking. We kept the story going on Trayvon Martin and we had other stories going at the same time. I believe that dKos's ability to give the background and the story (the emotional bits as it were) as well as keep a story line up to date is very powerful. The stories that people do here wind up on MSNBC in various corners. So we are pushing our memes out into the world. We don't have the ability, in my opinion, to do confrontation or act as a member of the press might in giving interviews, but it isn't IMPOSSIBLE. We just haven't had anybody use an interview format too often.

We sometimes have congress critters show up, but they often just do a blog but never reply to comments. They want our support in some cases, which is gratifying, but it is the vast majority of folks in congress who want nuthin' to do with us.
