Repub: I don't have to pay a high tax rate, so there! If you want more taxes why don't you pay more? You big poo-head!

It was nice when all those in Congress acted like adults.

Because there's a Massachusetts tax mechanism that explicitly permits this: paying more than you owe. And Elizabeth Warren didn't take advantage of it.

She wants to hang onto her millions. But when it comes to everyone else, well, it's "mandatory donations for thee, but not for me."

I joined this site determined to do only one thing: answer questions. I will not preach or lecture or even point out glaring inaccuracies where I see them.

...will make no difference, even symbolic?

They all need to pay.  Taxes are not charity.  They're dues.  She'd pay the same as everyone else if taxes were raised.

If it's "mandatory donations," that is, a higher tax rate, then it will be mandatory for her too.

You've championed this BS line in a couple diaries.  This time, you are wandering into nonsense.

"We all should pay higher taxes" is not the same as saying "I should pay higher taxes, whether or not others in my bracket also pay more."

There is nothing hypocritical in calling for a tax increase for the well-off, all of those so situated, but not making a voluntary contribution.  The first would achieve something real for the common good.  The latter might be a nice gesture, but little more.

      •  Please. You're an anti-Warren Bot. (0+ / 0-)

And I'm tired of it. You don't contribute to the conversation about MORE and BETTER Democrats. You just attack Elizabeth Warren. Who pays you? Seriously. Pathetic fail. If you just need the money, I feel sorry for you.

Let's ask a question or two of Morticia. This site is for more and better Democrats. Why are you here? What is the meaning of the word preach? What is the meaning of the word lecture?

        Sorry, that's three questions.
