Bloomberg and Kelly bear the brunt of the responsibility for the bad behavior by their police dept, i.e., the violence, denial of rights, false arrests, etc.

be Christine Quinn, NYC Council Speaker, but it is now looking like Ray Kelly will be standing in that toady role. Bloomberg needs to be stopped. He now thinks he OWNS NYC and that no one should ever be Mayor here, unless they are one of his minions. It makes my blood run cold.

His latest controlling move is to force NY hospitals to teach new mothers breast feeding techniques before they are released from the hospital. Also, he wants bldg. owners to sign affidavits re: where smoking is allowed in residential buildings.

He is a gigantic and horrendous danger. He is one of the worst things given to us by the awful events of 9/11. He would never, ever have been elected if Rudy had not become "America's Mayor" and pushed for Bloomberg to be elected.

New York is not a city anymore, it is Bloomberg's fiefdom.

I recall a time when teaching breast feeding techniques was considered a very progressive position.

He's the quintessential third way politician, hijacking good positions and turning people against them due to his economic attacks on working people.

            •  It's not the breast feeding that is the problem. (1+ / 0-)

That is a good thing. It is the making it mandatory that hospitals teach it and mothers learn it that is frightening. Some women can't or don't want to breast feed. It is none of his business is the point.

“The actual designation is from the World Health Organization and UNICEF for hospitals that provide the highest level of care for breastfeeding support,” nurse manager Karen Goodman said.

What that means is the hospital educates new mothers and staff on the benefits of breastfeeding.

“We do not give out gift bags of formula, we do not encourage its use,” Goodman said.
