  •  You know. The opening act. (5+ / 0-)

I love that he was supposed to be the opener. So without him, no big; the show goes on.

    •  Ted's been an opening act since 1986 (6+ / 0-)

Resident Metal/hard rock fan here. I saw Aerosmith twice in 1986. The opener? Nugent. I saw KISS in 1987. The opener? Nugent. I saw KISS again in 2000. The opener? You get the idea. This assclown hasn't put out a good album since 1984 so opening for other acts and/or spewing inane right wing horseshit is the only way he gets any press.

Another nugget about the Nuge's so called "toughness": in 1981, when he was still an arena act, his opening band was an upper NY state band called Manowar. Ted saw all the gear they were loading for their gig & all the press they were getting & quickly kicked them off the tour. Getting kicked off the tour contributed to the band being dropped from EMI Records & the band had to struggle for years on indie metal labels. Thanks Ted!

So his sham "badassery" translates to his musical life, as well as his personal life. Manowar, BTW, have a ridiculous image & cheesy lyrics, but they're a good straight ahead metal band (kind of like an American Judas Priest) with a huge following in Europe.
