    •  If only it was anonymous! (5+ / 0-)

The biggest change was that they were all doing it in the open, saying out loud what used to get them frozen out to the edge of the herd.  Where the wolves could get them.

        •  Name tags would be helpful. (0+ / 0-)

Especially if you could see it from a ways off.  So we could make a wide detour.  I sort of appreciate the bumperstickers for that reason.  No need to engage that particular person on any subject.

          •  There is a guy here who has a bumper sticker (1+ / 0-)

on his van , in the past he would talk with me about things , now after seeing the bumper sticker , I have no desire to hear his views about anything . I can't help him fix anything that might break on his van etc etc etc , iykwim .

Young woman running around with a sticker on her car that read, "Yes I'm a bitch.  Just not your bitch".
Maybe I'm missing her point, but I find I have no interest in getting to know her at all.  Does she think this is clever?

              •  Yes, she thinks she's terribly clever... (0+ / 0-)

In a culture that mocks modesty, "anything goes". What goes first is civil discourse.

Some beleive the entire world revolves around them. I wonder what she'd answer if you asked her what she thought of what's going on in Syria just now?

                Possibly something profound like:

"Are you trying to be a bitch? Well, I'm a bitch.  Just not your bitch".

                Times have changed,
And we've often rewound the clock,
Since the Puritans got a shock,
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
If today, any shock they should try to stem,
'Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
Plymouth Rock would land on them.

In olden days a glimpse of stocking,
Was looked on as something shocking,
                But now, God knows,

                Anything goes.

                Good authors too,
                Who once knew better words,
Now only use four letter words writing prose.

                Anything goes.

If driving fast cars you like,
                If low bars you like,
                If old hymns you like,
                If bare limbs you like,
                If Mae West you like,
                Or me undressed you like,
                Why nobody will oppose!

                When every night,
                The set that's smart,
                Is intruding at nudist parties,
                In studios.
                Anything goes.

The world has gone mad today,
                And good's bad today,
                And black's white today,
                And days night today,
                And that gent today,
                You gave a cent today,
                Once had several châteaux.

Just think of those shocks you've got,
                And those knocks you've got,
                And those blues you've got,
                From those news you've got,
                And those pains you've got,
                (If any brains you've got!),
                From those little radios.

But  now we  have iPods, computers,Twitter, Facebook...etc  etc.
