Mind candy is good, and even though it is often derided, it is well worth our time.  I just finished Cotterill's Siri series and loved it.

Also I found two of P.D. James books at the thrift stores the other day. From what I have heard here I am itching to read them. The titles I found are A Taste for Death and Devices and desires.

Diaries are funny things Sam. Type one letter and you never know where you might end up. My apologies to J.R.R. Tolkien.

Let us hear what you think of them.

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks what I think. I enjoyed your discussion of whether mystery writers are literary or not. Personally it is above my pay grade to decide. I detested English classes all through school. They wouldn't let me read what I wanted. Eventually I got around to reading most of the classics, but on my timetable.  ;-)

reading your comments here, which I enjoy.

I'm not qualified to say either but have a few opinions.
