  •  This kind of stuff just makes me furious. (14+ / 0-)

People who eat brownies with goldleaf on them and pay $15.00 for a cupcake want the rest of us to eat unseasoned beans and rice and quit complaining.  And we're the ones waging class warfare?

Sigh.  Go work three part time jobs--jobs that actually involve sweating--come home and cook beans--for three hours before you can eat them, because that's how long it takes cheap dry beans to get soft enough to chew them.  Let's hope you don't live in Denver or anywhere with altitude, 'cause it will take longer.

I occasionally organize canned food drives at my son's school for our local food pantry.  My eyes were opened when I discovered that for some poor people, the issue isn't being able to buy food, it's not having enough $$ to turn the effing stove on for three hours to cook their dry beans.  Or the people who live on the edges...do you think they have a set of Revere Ware in that backpack?  How the heck can you cook dry beans if you are living in your car?

The Paul Ryan "budget" would throw millions of kids off of the school lunch programs.  But that's OK, Sean.  Enjoy your $10.00 cup of coffee and make sure those not-really-poor-enough-yet kids can't get at least one nutritious meal a day.

I know we're not supposed to hate people, but I can't help it.  I hate these people.  In my defense, they started it.
