He's going after the SCOTUS on illegal immigration but does nothing to go after the mega theft and those who own our politicians through Citizens United decision.

Why didn't he go after the thieves of Wall street such as Goldman, AIG and Morgan Stanley and make sure their top dogs were sent to the slammer?   Why didn't he remove the carried interest exemption that allows billionaires such as Steve Schwarzman to pay less than 15% on their carried interest income?

There are many in the so-called know that believe Schumer was a factor in calling off the SEC dogs who protected Madoff from the Harry Markopulous expose.    We'll never know will we?

Long term politicians like Schumer are there to take care of cronies and not citizens.   Forget their so-called Party alliance.   Their mission is to make sure they get paid off by the moneyed lite so they get reelected.

I have little respect for most politicians unless they unabashedly work for all the people of the USA.

As a libertarian progressive I have a problem with partisan politics because at its core it is about protecting political cronies, muzzling all opposition, wearing blinders instead of doing what is right for all of society and especially those with the least.

Victims of bigotry are the poorest, least influential members of society.......never the wealthiest, most educated, most overrepresented in high levels, and most influential. Bigotry hurts the least influential. To claim or say otherwise is absurd.

      •  Which Democrats do you like? (0+ / 0-)

You don't like Chuck Shumer, you don't like Nancy Pelosi or Al Gore. You don't even like Henry Waxman. You criticize "Both Parties". So who are the Democrats you like? Or do you only like Ron Paul, whom you called "the Only Patriot"?

As a progressive libertarian I find it increasingly difficult to find politicians that unambiguously serve the US people instead of the banks, multinationals, MIC and our alleged allies as their first priority. My favorite D is an I-Bernie Sanders.

          •  I like Bernie too (0+ / 0-)

His intelligence, his independence, and his policy approach.

I also like the way he disproves some stereotypes that one sees from time to time. Here are some interesting, even surprising, excerpts from the Wikipedia article on Bernie:

Sanders, the son of Jewish Polish immigrants to the United States, was born in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from James Madison High School in Brooklyn and later attended the University of Chicago, graduating with an B.A. in political science in 1964.[4] After graduating from college, Sanders spent time on an Israeli kibbutz, an experience which shaped his political views.[5]
Sanders is one of two sitting U.S. Senators who went to James Madison High School in Brooklyn (the other being Chuck Schumer). Before Sanders became a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, his roommate was Richard I. Sugarman, a professor at the University of Vermont. Coincidentally, the only other Independent currently serving in the U.S. Senate, Joe Lieberman (I-CT) shared a suite with Professor Sugarman when the two attended Yale University in the 1960s.[50
It would be fascinating to know what Sanders, Schumer, Sugarman and Lieberman had to say to each other - so much in common and such a range of different views.
