1st person in my family to go to college, EVERYTHING in my life that I have has come from my education there. So when I see the Hawks take the field, I think about everything- my education, my friends, my fraternity brothers, and now my kids who go there.

and just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.  I have been a Hawkeye fan all my life.  My daughter, when we were traveling the midwest looking for colleges, fell in LOVE with....the Cyclones.  She looked at me and said, what will Poppa say?  Will he be mad?  Nope.  Your Poppa loves you and will be delighted you found a school you like, and, frankly, it is in Iowa, and that is pretty good in his book (my parents have lived in Southern California for over 50 years, but are still DEVOTED Hawkeye fans).  Poppa roots for the Cyclones when they are not playing the Hawkeyes for his granddaughter.  Or when the Cyclones are playing Ohio or Michigan or Nebraska or Texas.  GO HAWKS!!!
