      would survive the Senate.

It'd be much better if it didn't make it out of the House.

    •  Really? After How The Senate Dems Stabbed Obama (0+ / 0-)

in the back over closing Gitmo and NDAA-2012?

Only 3 Senate Dems voted against the version of NDAA-2012 that Obama threaten to veto, and the attempted Amendment by Udall to incorporate Obama's desired changes regarding military detention failed 38 - 60; nevertheless, Udall

subsequently voted for the Act in the joint session of Congress that passed it, and though he remained "extremely troubled" by the detainee provisions, he promised to "push Congress to conduct the maximum amount of oversight possible."
When it come to civil rights, esp "terrorist" related issues, the Senate is far to the "right" of Obama - and that includes far too many Dems. They know that Obama will get all the blame so they have little concern about catching flak from "concerned" citizens.

I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Republican Party.

Oh what ever are you implying?

        I have the vapors now....

        My couch?  My pearls?

Our Senate?  Our majority?  Our support of the President?

        on my,  oh my...

Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
