to rec'd your comment because today we don't want to think in terms of violence and the French Revolution was so bloody and horrible, in addition to innocent people getting harmed, that people don't want it to get to that point.

But, I rec'd it anyway, because where things stand it is up to our elected representatives to make this better, because it can't come from the people anymore.  It has to come down to our elected representatives giving up their benefits of full retired, and healthcare as a start and then acting on the behalf of the people.  But, I don't see that happening anything time soon.

    •  You are confusing the revolution of (3+ / 0-)

1789 and the counter-revolution of 1793. That's when Mlle Guillotine claimed her victims.

Similarly, it was the counter-revolution against the Bolsheviks, featuring an invasion by the US, France, Japan and the UK (there were other capitalist invaders, but these are the main culprits).

Generally, it is the ancien régime that insists on a bloodbath. Should we bow to their inhumanity and not advance the interests of the 99%?

    •  i agree. NO ONE wants a 1789. (0+ / 0-)

but that's where capitalistic RW policies will inevitably take us if they don't wise up. it's a Malthusian function. Capitalism only really works when resources are cheap and abundant. we no longer have that. the only thing that may save capitalism, and humanity as a species, is getting off this planet. otherwise, Malthus wins.
