  •  I think Haley just did a favor, (8+ / 0-)

    unwittingly, of course, to Elie.

I hadn't even heard that Wiesel was campaigning against this practice.

    Now I do.

And why bring up a non-winnable issue like this out of thin fucking air?  Yikes, these guys are dumb.

    •  How would Haley Barbour feel if this practice (0+ / 0-)

extended to people of his faith, or his family, or even to him?

I don't think he, or very many of his fellow Southern Baptists would appreciate it either.

I was raised Southern Baptist (although not one now) and let me tell you, they believe that Mormonism is a cult and the Mormons are going to hell, they are heretics etc.  I've attended a class on Mormonism as a cult while I was going to a Southern Baptist church.  I find it so ironic, that President Obama is the Protestant, with beliefs that are aligned with theirs, yet they endorse Romney.  I'm from Oklahoma, the bible belt and these 'Christians' really piss me off.

If your religious beliefs make you comfortable with your prejudices… question those beliefs.
