are trained for many of the same services that service dogs are including mobility assistance and most commonly as a guide for the visually impaired. The increased longevity of the horse vs a dog alone makes miniature horse guides to be financially better suited for the visually impaired. They are also excellent service animals for those with dog allergies, and are "house broken" like dogs and will tell you when they need to go out to use the restroom.

Different animals make better companions for some folks and their situations than others. Miniature horses are growing more common as guide animals and mobility assistance animals.
