  •  Well, really, in a larger context, it may be that (5+ / 0-)

YOU need to "deal with it".  I don't know how long you have been observing this site beyond the last couple of months, but this can be a pretty wide-open Wild West sort of place sometimes.  I would gather from your comments that you may not have been reading on a regular basis during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary season, because it would seem that you would otherwise not be all that surprised that expression of a somewhat 'conservative' view would get a good deal of negative attention...

...ANY time one writes a comment that swims against the rising tide of the direction discussion is going, one runs the risk of being called names, if not being HR'ed (whether it fits The Rulz or not).  There are nearly 340 thousand registered members and not all of them are trained in civil debate; this isn't always such a place in any case.  You may want to consider growing a few more layers of skin, now that your rant has concluded...

I lurked here through most of the year, as a refugee from TPM on one side and Bartcop on the other.  It was only after the election that I finally signed up.  Except for maybe The Great Banning of last year - and the occasional zombie - it's usually not all that bad here.

It's easier if you try to avoid the diaries you know are going to turn into food fights.  But if you're going to say something controversial, or unpopular, or that doesn't toe the line of the particular diary's participants it's best to be ready to eat some pastry.
