    this heritage seems to be the same basic gene pool, just distributed over time and place.
    That's what I've always thought.
    Longboat technology and geographical location seem to mark the difference between the Vikings and their cousins in Northern Germany -- those things, and a gap of several hundred years.

    If only we could elect a Congress with the brains and political willingness to make it happen.
