    She acknowledges it, but at the same time she undermines it as a metric, i.e., feeding children, not outsourcing food production, and saving small farms are all more important than saving money.

      This committee and the bill it's discussing have nothing to do with military spending, so that would be sort of like teabaggers throwing antichoice nonsense into highway bill.

      My point was that while we may be proud to cut waste out of expenditures, we should not be proud to "reduce deficits" for the sake of reducing deficits, and Gillibrand should (and may well, as Scott suggested) know that.
