  •  Yes, there is a connection between the AFL (0+ / 0-)

    & May Day, though my focus is more on the Haymarket Martyrs themselves.  Also, Albert Parsons (the primary labor leader in Chicago at the time) was not affiliated with the AFofL, having only previously been a member of the Knights of Labor.

    All that said - May Day should be remembered as something akin to baseball and apple pie. Unequivocally American... but alas it isn't.
