    Back in the day, it was incredible to read because there was so little out there.  And, it was fun to read about everyone's favorite City by the Bay.  But, for me, it went quickly from quirky and celebrating a wide range of diversity into soap opera territory.

    It was certainly one of a group of books that were important when they came out - so to speak - when there was so little pop culture that was pro-LGBT.  My copies of Tales, "Best Little Boy in the World," "Berlin Stories," "Dancer from the Dance," "The Persian Boy," etc. were well-thumbed.
