    Northridge's prediction that you will find the novel a different read now.  

    Watch especially for not only the immediate narrative, but the way Holleran defines what the characters are doing and thinking because of where they came from, what sort of culture they grew up in.  

    At the end, think how powerful Malone has been in so many people's lives.  He was a handsome man who grew up in Ohio, yet just a few years later he pervades the dance clubs in Manhattan.  That warp in time and place makes Dancer from the Dance an emotional wallop.
