  •  The holding cell was in a DEA field office (7+ / 0-)

They can't blame the yokels or the Marshals for this.  It's them.  Their facility.  Their personnel.  Their supervisors.  DEA all the way.

    •  Was he not yelling out for help? (9+ / 0-)

Is the DEA really going to try to say that no one heard this guy yelling for help for five days?????

He could hear agents chatting among themselves on the other side of the heavy door, and other detainees coming and going from holding tanks nearby.
Someone is full of shit here.

It is time to #Occupy Media.

Just possibly they thought he was just another mojavo. But they knew someone was there. They just did not care. If a DEA detainee dies so what? You think it never happens? That's what deserts are for.

The only mistake they made was this kid was middle class and lawyered up. If he wasn't a middle class kid with a lawyer and a family there would be no story here. This would pass without a whisper.

Another possibility. They knew. They sent a message. They cannot and could not prosecute but they could send a message. They did send that message.

This is executive branch people. This is done as policy. This is done on orders. And functionaries not held accountable, publicly, means the top dog approves.
