You did the right thing for Huck. And you and Charles held him in your laps as he crossed over, going beyond the stars to the Rainbow Bridge. All 3 of you said goodbye w/love.

I'm in tears remembering having to give the order to put my beloved Schatzi to sleep. I had no choice; she was 11 years old (old for a Dobe), and dying of bone cancer. She had stopped eating. Before she went to the vet for the last time, she looked at me as I was hugging her and spoke w/her beautiful brown eyes. I knew. I wept as I spoke on the phone and begged them to hold her for me.

I have to stop writing now. Please know we are here for you. T and R.

She was a 12 year old half-Alaskan Malamute, half-German Shepherd, and she too had beautiful, intelligent, soulful brown eyes. As she was given to the Gods, I held her with her head resting on my lap, as my late husband Bob held her body on his, and I sang to her for the second and last time the song I had written for her walking on, "Where Good Dogs Dance". Schatzie was the first dog who ever identified herself as my dog.

I could not sing that song without my voice breaking. To this day, I still cannot. The only two times I've had to help a cat cross the Rainbow Bridge have been very sudden and I have not had an opportunity to write a song for cats. I have been much more focused on loving them up.

Organ donors save lives! A donor's kidney gave me my life back on 02/18/11; he lives on in me. Please talk with your family about your wish to donate.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?
