  •  I had remembered Arianna in the '90s (7+ / 0-)

pushing a Newt presidency over Bill Clinton, so when she showed up as a "progressive" all these years later, I couldn't believe my ears.

She has this condescending manner about her that strikes me as someone I wouldn't want on my team. Ever.

There is nothing that makes me laugh more than seeing her, as a former Newt supporter, on tv dictating to the president.

Howard Fineman behaves exactly like her now. I can't stomach listening to him any longer.

btw, wasn't there an assistant to Arianna at one time who said he had to write talking points for her before she showed up on tv? Too funny.

    •  she once supported newt? (1+ / 0-)

my god.  i had no idea!

i once wrote here  that she does not lack a modicum  of intelligence.

i completely take that back and apologise for saying it.

She was a big champion of the Newt Revolution,” Tony Blankley, Gingrich’s press secretary at the time, told POLITICO. “She was a friend and an ally.”
Time magazine called her “Gingrich’s muse,” and David Brock, in his memoir of the period, noted her efforts to become “the godmother of the Gingrich Revolution.”
It was a quintessential Washington relationship that blossomed in the conservative salons Huffington hosted in the cavernous $4 million manse she shared with her former husband, Michael Huffington, but it’s a relationship that, in some ways, both have been trying for years to distance themselves from.

Gingrich “plucked her out of obscurity,” according to Ferguson, and Huffington returned the favor by helping to lead a cheering section for Gingrich.
