    ...the lean R a couple others gave.

    It's a tough call because the very few early polls have massive undecideds.  Nonpartisan and soft partison voters obviously haven't seriously contemplated a race without Lugar, and won't bother until after he goes down.  But's inconceivable to me in Indiana, when Obama likely loses and at best is a non-factor this time, we won't have the disadvantage of the state's natural conservative lean.

      But Treasurer Mourdock's campaign manager is infamous for his unprofessional outbursts, OFA is more heavily invested in the state than Romney's people are, and Rep. Donnelly is closer to the ideological median of Indiana than Mourdock is. It's just a matter of overcoming the Republican Party's strong brand name in Indiana.
