if a habitat is flooded, the improvement for target fishes increases by an infinite percentage...because a habitat suitability index that is even a tiny fraction of 1 is still infinitely higher than zero, which is the suitability of dry land to fishes.

But every time we have a holiday, millions leave town.

It was thinking about Friday after Thanksgiving: same month, already a virtual holiday, can kick off the holiday shopping season: how American is that?  But too many people gone.

I love the Oregon system.  We get our ballots in the mail and have about 2 weeks to send them back in.  Can't imagine voting any other way now.  Should be a national standard, along with establishing requirements for voting.

I keep wondering this: if it's so important to establish rules to prevent fraudulent voting, why isn't it equally important to establish rules to guarantee that qualified voters are not prevented from voting.  Voter fraud cuts both ways.  It should be a crime to prevent an American citizen from voting, with the burden of proof on the state to show that a person is not a citizen.

Here's an idea: how about the people run the government and the corporations can line up for whatever we leave for them.

is just screaming for us to make it election day. After all, what did veterans serve for - to ensure democracy (at least that's what they told us in middle school).

Most people get the day off. It's not always on the weekend when people would go do other things. Make it election day. Honor veterans by voting.
