    I very strongly agree with you here and that's why one reason it is not going to happen. The Democratic Party isn't going to call for taxation of churches -

    Calling for the taxation of churches is political suicide
    I think there's a lot of anger because a lot of these mega-churches bring in millions, pay the pastor a big salary, and are very much part of the Republican Party infrastructure.  

    What's ignored is the millions of smaller church pastors who are not paid lots of money, can't afford to put their money into TV and radio, are Democrats, believe in our programs, and are an important part of communities.

    They are not for profit institutions.

    And you are right - those churches couldn't afford to pay property tax on their current budget. It isn't only the  Christian churches that would be hurt - it would hurt other faiths.

    I would also be against removing the tax exempt status.

    But I am not going to get into an argument with people here about it because that really doesn't get anywhere.

    At this point, far more people have now been arrested for protesting Wall Street's mortgage fraud crimes than have been for committing and presiding over them.
