  •  You grow 'em crazy in Texas! (0+ / 0-)

The crazies in Texas are just about to chase me away from Facebook.  It's impossible to look at Facebook without another irrational rant from another crazy.

Facts!  Who needs Facts.  If you're from Texas, and you gave the USA W, then Facts are completely irrelevant to any political discussion!

    •  Sorry, I sure didn't vote for Dumbya. (0+ / 0-)

Karl Rove and TPTB gave you Dumbya. I was dumbfounded that the rest of the nation fell for that lil chickenshit half-assed governor SOB, and I largely predicted what the outcome would be.
But yeah, crazee is endemic here, facts and reality are totally superfluous in baggerstan.

      •  Nothing personal! (0+ / 0-)

I left Texas.  I met Dubya a couple of times.   Tried to sell Dubya some gas and oil production equipment when I was selling the stuff.  He said he didn't need any.  He was drilling dry holes for tax breaks.

I left Texas when oil was $12 a barrel.  At one time in the earlly '80s some of the oil economists projected that oil would sell for $40 a barrel.  We thought they were crazy!  Who could have imagined $100 a barrel oil?

        •  Then in the mid '80's oil went to ~$6/bbl (0+ / 0-)

and places like Houston went bust, really busted (and that wasn't the only one).
It was like a localized depression, construction stopped, homes and apartment complexes were abandoned, people would come to the door (at the office) asking for work, the whole state felt it. It was a good time to buy property though, which might have been the point of it all (pvt CT). I worked in/around Houston and many other places throughout my career, so got to know many areas fairly well (TX is a damned big diverse place).
I think some of the ragging on Texas comes from reaction to our maybe exaggerated attitudes due to just living in a land of extremes (climate, economic, whatever).
