  •  And Latinos are not the only story in Texas. (4+ / 0-)

Due to corporate practices of contracting out work, large numbers of workers from India and SE Asia have come to major cities in Texas.

Houston has always been more international than Dallas, but today, even Dallas suburbs have large swaths of Asian shopping centers, Indian restaurants and increasing numbers of people from those areas of the world who stay, get permanent residency status, begin working on their citizenship and begin raising families. Frequently, they bring parents and other family from home, once established.

The numbers are nothing like the Latino numbers, but the point is that people from around the world do not all have the world view of cynical greedy R's.  They've thought about the ideals supposedly exemplified by the USA and come here to live those ideals.

In a few more years, their children - if not they themselves - will constitute still more pressures on the R's and the "white vote," which in a state with cities named things like "White Settlement" (yes, after the color of the people, not 'Mr. White'), and which still hasn't gotten over the Good Ol' Boy system, will be overwhelmed.

    Looking forward to that day!
