Right after this election, Obama is going to agree to cut Social Security and Medicare.  Obama created the Cat Food Commission.  He bought into deficit reduction talks.  He caved on the stimulus.   He might have done the best he could do, but his inclinations are with corporate America.

As you say, he might have done the best he could.

Obama has never seen austerity as a cure for the recession or as a means to confidence or to soothe credit markets.  Like anyone who isn't a complete doofus, he sees permanent large deficits as a threat; but unlike the austerians, he knows that the best weapon against deficits is recovery which is brought about by stimulus spending.

Getting all upset about Obama signing onto any cuts in the distant future has nothing to do with what's happening in Europe at all.

Romney is campaigning to be President SuperBain; his cure is to cut wages, end pensions, let companies go bankrupt, and let the assets of production go dark or be sold to China. He really thinks thats the best of all possible Americas.
