Hard-hitting investigative journalism, in-depth reports (often spanning 6 or 7 pages) plus humor, arts, reviews and the best cartoons anywhere (even Daily Kos' own ericlewis0 cartoons for them!).

TNY is the only magazine you need.

I had a subscription to the New Yorker for years, but now occasionally read it in the library. I stopped subscribing because of the immense amount of paper in it that needed recycling.

i had a book by tom wolfe where he reprinted a satire of the new yorker and its management that was in the NY herald tribune sunday magazine in 1963... how they had basically mothballed themselves in their 1925-40 style.
well, by century's end the new yorker was still strong, and getting better all the time, while wolfe was writing novels about drunken cheerleaders.

    •  I like American Prospect, too. n/t (0+ / 0-)
