    It was the US embassy that suggested I get Australian citizenship while I was applying for a US passport for my Australian-born son in 1993.

      As I said, much may have changed in the last many years, but I can't help but think of the part of the oath the newly naturalized take (took—apparently the oath was changed somewhat in 2003) which says said something along the line of "…renounce and abjure allegiance to princes and potentates…"

      Seems like dual citizenship is the antithesis of that position. I'm not arguing the point. IANAL, and my single exposure to that part of the Executive branch was my wife's citizenship. Way too tenuous a link upon which to take a strong position.
