    given redistricting, but believe me, I know. I grew up in Ken Calvert's district and remember Mark Takano's races against him in the 90s. It was part of what turned me into a Democrat for life in my pre-teen years.

    oops. I hope the gate wasn't too expensive.

    •  Yes, Calvert defeated Takano in 1992 and 1994 (0+ / 0-)

      despite being caught with a prostitute and being involved in tax improprieties. He falsely pretended to be a moderate. It was disillusioning to many of us. The district was trending Republican then. It is trending Democratic now.

      Jerry Lewis never represented the Riverside area. As far as I know, none of the new 41st overlaps with his San Bernardino County district.
