    but fattening.
    My old cat got blocked a couple of times (I recall frantically  trying to locate the Penn Vet hospital late one St. Patrick's Day night), and once we switched to CD he never had that problem again - except he turned into a walrus!  When he lay on his side, he really couldn't see over the expanse of white belly fur.
    I kept cutting the amount I fed him, but he lost no weight.  
    The vet switched him to the Science Diet RD, which had all the benefits of the CD but in a lower calorie formula.  He could eat to his heart's content, and returned to normal size.

      I had the opposite problem...loss of weight, but I have heard this.  It is a common problem.  But, for me, I am having to increase to more than a can a day because my boy is getting just a bit too skinny.  He went from a fatty 14+ pounds to a too lean 9+ pounds.  We upped the food a bit and are now seeing him slowly gain a little weight.
