    Austerity's clearly worked out very well for the WSJ constituents. Maybe not some of those who only imagine they're WSJ constituents.

      for the large majority of WSJ readers, actually.  I think that a lot of those people were dumb enough to believe the bullshit about how "liberating" money from the government coffers was going to make it more available to them.  

      The reality is that not spending does not free up that cash - they were under the impression that the Cash Liberation Fairy was going to swoop in and take the government's place as a big spender.  Of course, many of us know that the Easter Bunny is more likely to drop by our homes than the Cash Liberation Fairy ever would be.

      Since Murdoch took over the paper,  the comments on WSJ articles have taken a nosedive.  They're clearly full of uneducated, ill-informed tea party rhetoric and I can't believe that many of them hold mid or high level banking or corporate jobs.

      They're just people railing against their own self interest.
