  •  When I came out to my father (1+ / 0-)

He asked me what my new name would be. When I told him it is Natasha, he got a little angry with me. He told me that as my father, he should have been consulted about my name, actually that I should have given him the right to rename me (he didn't say what to).

Which is typical of my father. He managed to make one of the most difficult things I have ever done (coming out to him) about him. Which, I suspect, is when I knew he accepted me. Support has been another issue. But he is who he is and he treats me as he always has(with varying degrees of pride and contempt) with the exception that he uses my proper name and pronouns.
