If Democrats cared about voting as much as Republicans do, America would be the world's biggest progressive social democracy.

There's just way more of us. Way more. Yet more of them fairly consistently turn out on Election Day.

So, it's nice that 51% of Americans approve. But what I really care about is whether 51% of voting Americans approve.

Why are Democrats so apathetic? Because the fact that they are young, which makes them open minded, also makes them uninterested in voting.

I joined Greenpeace in high school (1980) but didn't register to vote until Al Gore ran in 2000. Had lots of opinions, but just never felt like it was very urgent to act upon them. I was comfortable with others running the store while I did my own thing.

I can imagine that there's alot of that going around.

Youth, low education, poverty, and being black or Latino all correlate with being less likely to vote.
